Project Overview:

Waste Management New Zealand built a new transfer station in Hamilton, NZ. It was important for the client to move away from traditional fixed line systems for dust and odour suppression, and instead look at European Best Practice, which was a single dust suppression cannon was mounted at high level, meaning one point of maintenance for WM staff.

biOx Solution:

A Spraystream S2.2 High Pressure cannon was installed around the truck loading bay. This covered dust and odour generated from loading the bins from a handler, and created a fine water mist that extended into the transfer station where other sources of dust were generated around customer drop off points.

Key Elements of the Setup:

- Wall Mounted cannon with rotation platform and wall bracket situated at 7m in height
- Wall unit situated at 1m height accessible for all controls, pump maintenance, and odour suppression injection
- Very tidy and compact set up, well out of the way of telehandlers eliminating risk of damage.

Results:

First of several units purchased by the same client for other Transfer Stations around the country.
